73. And again David says thus concerning the death and resurrection of Christ: I laid me down and slept: I awaked, for the Lord received me. [1] David said not this of himself, for he was not raised after death: but the Spirit of Christ, who (spake) also in other prophets concerning Him, says here by David: I laid me down and slept: I awaked, for the Lord received me. By sleep he means death; for He arose again.
