Chapter IX.—The Bishops under Commodus.

1. After Antoninus [1] had been emperor for nineteen years, Commodus received the government. [2] In his first year Julian [3] became bishop of the Alexandrian churches, after Agrippinus [4] had held the office for twelve years.
