Chapter XXXIV.—Evarestus, the Fourth Bishop of the Church of Rome.
1. In the third year of the reign of the emperor mentioned above, Edition note 1 Clement Edition note 2 committed the episcopal government of the church of Rome to Evarestus, Edition note 3 and departed this life after he had superintended the teaching of the divine word nine years in all.
