About this reading layout

Source wording, punctuation, paragraph boundaries and supplied line breaks are retained. Long prose also has editorial reading breaks at sentence boundaries. Substantial passages already enclosed in double quotation marks are set apart; this does not identify their source or establish a connection.

These added breaks are reading aids, not claims about the original manuscript’s layout. Poetry is lineated only where the downloaded text supplies line breaks. References and edition notes remain with their text.

Chapter 6 — Codex III

Read in this edition: source locators and uncertainty marks are retained. Square brackets can mark gaps or editorial interventions; headings and supplied subtitles belong to the edition. Coverage and cautions

1. Barbelon also peered into the pure light and turned herself to his direction,

2. and gave birth to a spark of light resembling the blessed light, yet in greatness he is unequal (to her).

3. This is the only-begotten one, who issued forth from the Father, the self-generated God, the first-born Son of all the (Sons) of the Father, the pure light,

4. and the great unseen Spirit rejoiced because of the light that had come forth from the first power, who is his Providence, Barbelon.

5. He anointed him with his own anointing, ⟦page 10⟧ so that he became perfect, not even lacking in anything of the anointing, because he had been anointed with the anointing of the unseen Spirit, pouring out onto him, and he received the anointing from the virginal Spirit, and he attended him, extolling the unseen Spirit and the one on whose account he had issued forth,

6. and he entreated to be given a companion laborer, Mind, and the unseen Spirit agreed.

7. Mind approached, standing in attendance together with Christ, extolling him and Barbelon, and all of these entered into Silence and Thought,

8. and the invisible Spirit desired to make something by means of the Logos, and his (potential) will became actual, and approached, and stood in attendance together with Mind and Light, extolling him,

9. and the Logos followed Will, because by means of the Logos, Christ, the self-generated God, created the All.
