About this reading layout
Source wording, punctuation, paragraph boundaries and supplied line breaks are retained. Long prose also has editorial reading breaks at sentence boundaries. Substantial passages already enclosed in double quotation marks are set apart; this does not identify their source or establish a connection.
These added breaks are reading aids, not claims about the original manuscript’s layout. Poetry is lineated only where the downloaded text supplies line breaks. References and edition notes remain with their text.
Chapter 6
1. The archons schemed with one another and said: “Come, let us cause a flood by our hands and annihilate all flesh, humans and beasts.”
2. When the archon of the forces came to know of their scheme, he said to Noah:
“Make for yourself an ark of wood that does not rot, and hide in it, you together with your children and with the beasts and the birds of the sky, both small and large, settling it on Mount Sir.”
3. Orea then approached Noah, desirous to board the ark.
4. When he refused her, she blew on the ark so that it was devoured by fire. So a second time he made an ark.
